....about how you can help us celebrate our 20th Birthday in 2023, the upcoming November member meeting on Innovation, member news with Delkia, Member Event Focus in Paris with DiT and Member Focus with SEB Management Services.
Help us celebrate our 20th Birthday in 2023!
In the run up to BECBC’s 20th anniversary next year, we invite you to join us in our celebrations! You, our members, will be front and centre of our 20th Birthday. Not only that, but charities of your choice will be at the heart of all we do to celebrate 20 exciting years of collaboration and good business.
You are invited to host a Dinner for 20!
We are inviting BECBC members to host a ‘Dinner for 20’. This entails inviting 20 individuals, who work for businesses in the host’s supply chain, to a dinner event. It can be as big or as small as like, whether it be a curry night or a fine dining experience. The purpose of the event is two-fold: first, we want to create more opportunities for members to get to know other members and for those of you who offer to host to find out more about people in your supply chain. Secondly, as a cluster, we want to give back to our community – so the dinner will serve as a means to raise money for your chosen charity!
The guidelines are that the meal should not cost those invited more than £20 each-as a host you can choose to pay more if you wish. And staying within the theme of 20, each guest will then also be invited to contribute £20 to the charity (this is voluntary, of course) – Dinner for 20, Meal for £20, Give back £20!
Well, it does not end there. At our 2023 Awards Dinner – date still to be decided – we will award the winner with the ‘best event’ prize – determined by your guests!…so get thinking about what you can do to celebrate BECBC’s birthday

Member News: Delkia Demonstrates New Virtual Reality Service to Sellafield SRP Project
British engineering and technology firm Delkia, who have their HQ at Whitehaven Science and Technology Park, have developed a new virtual reality service allowing customers to interact with their products; saving time, money and improving safety. The first people to try out the system were Dave Brocklebank, Construction Manager, and Graham Young, Stakeholder Manager, from the Sellafield Product and Residue Store Retreatment Plant (SRP)* Project for which Delkia is producing a turnkey design, build and test package.
Graham Young Stakeholder Manager said “It is great to see how interactive Delkia have been in breaking ground with this system… The use of a VR system linked to the SRP model will open up opportunities to validate the operational and maintenance procedures ahead of commissioning. This will also enable better forward planning for any access arrangements or constraints during commissioning, highlight any problems before they arise improving safety and project delivery.”
Member Event Focus: DIT's UK - France Civil Nuclear Forum
Following the success of previous editions, the British Embassy in Paris and Egis are hosting the UK-France Civil Nuclear Forum on 7 November 2022 at the British Ambassador’s Residence.
This year’s tailored programme will feature a day of presentations, B2Bs and networking opportunities. The event will build on the strengths of both the French and UK supply chains to access opportunities in the nuclear markets and promote international collaboration on both sides of the Channel.
