John Grainger represented members at a North West Space Sector workshop in Kendal on Monday looking at how BECBC, ISH and Cumbria LEP can work together to help local companies access opportunities in the space sector.

We recently went through a tender process for delivery of our Comms and PR from 2024-7 and we're delighted to announce that from January your fellow members Natterjack Marketing and 32 West will be working together to amplify your messages.

Jacobs secures PMR framework for UK nuclear plants

Jacobs was awarded a new Project Management Resources (PMR) framework contract with EDF Nuclear Operations, licensee of eight nuclear power stations which account for approximately 16% of the U.K.'s electricity output.

Under an existing PMR framework, Jacobs supports operations at four Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor (AGR) stations; the transition from generation to defueling at another three AGR stations; and the operation and life extension program for the Sizewell B pressurized water reactor. EDF estimates the value of the new two-year contract, which starts on Jan. 1, 2024, at more than $53 million.

Createc is an R&D company specialising in imaging, sensing, and robotics, with a significant focus on the nuclear industry. We develop innovative technologies, build prototype systems, develop them into products, and successfully apply them in the civil nuclear, defence, transport and security sectors. Based in Cumbria and Oxford, with an agile team of around 30 employees we bridge the gap between academic research and industry.
