We're Hiring: Business Administration Open Role

GO Low Carbon has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Business Administration to support a fast-paced growing business.

This role is to support the team in the day-to-day running of the office, book-keeping and sales admin for services that help reduce our impact on the environment.

The right candidate will be working at the front-end of the business in an active and dynamic role; as well as supporting the back-end of the business ensuring that all essential general administrative and legislative tasks are carried out efficiently and comprehensively.

This is an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to use their skills in business administration and learn about the energy industry as part of a friendly, motivated team.

Business Administration Job Duties: (Non-exhaustive)

  • Providing office support including customer and employee support
  • Keeping well-organised files and records of business activity
  • Researching company data and archived reports
  • Keeping computer databases up to date
  • Interacting with clients either on the phone or in person
  • Answering phones and connecting calls to the proper department
  • Taking phone messages and passing them on
  • Following up on business communications, billing, and ordering
  • Communicating with materials suppliers and vendors
  • Quotes, invoicing, book-keeping & payroll
  • Using spreadsheets to track expenses and company spending
  • Collecting and inputting company data
  • Making travel arrangements for employees
  • Learning about the company's mission and available products/services
  • Building relationships with clients
  • Sending emails
  • Preparing documents by printing, copying, and binding
  • Writing and editing company correspondence
  • Collecting and sorting post
  • Assisting with minor technical support
  • Acting as a personal assistant to the executive team
  • Scheduling appointments and events
  • Ordering office stationery and other supplies
  • Office organisation
  • Preparing meeting rooms by setting up chairs and getting refreshments
  • Participating in office meetings and taking meeting minutes
  • Giving feedback on office efficiency and suggesting possible improvements
  • Being ready for any other administrative tasks that are required
  • Manage HR and Health & Safety internally, liaising with external consultants
  • Processing sales
  • Liaising with our suppliers
  • Answering customer queries
  • CRM management: Data entry, Data Cleansing, CRM process improvement & development
  • Acquiring knowledge of the energy industry, to help answer more complex customer queries and give you your first steps into the industry
  • As a small business we strive to work as a team and at times will require cross departmental assistance.

Personal Specification

Essential:

  • Driving license and own transport required
  • Willing to continually strive for further professional development
  • General business administration skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High level of numeracy and literacy, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of IT literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient at typing, with a good eye for spelling and grammar
  • Passion for detail and a high-level of organisation
  • Dynamic, self-motivated and pro-active, ability to use own initiative
  • Bookkeeping and payroll experience

Desirable:

  • Outgoing, friendly and polite
  • Personal interest in the environment and renewable energy
  • Great problem-solving ability
  • Worked on QuickBooks before

Reporting to: Business Manager / Directors

Location: Sprunston, Durdar, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA5 7AP

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (9am – 5pm)

Holidays: 28 days paid annual holiday, inclusive of bank holidays
