United Utilities race for £6bn build-only framework
United Utilities has started the hunt for contractors to deliver build-only projects for a programme worth £6bn over 10 years.
The build-only framework is split into two key lots covering essentially new treatment works and new pipeline work.
The north west water company’s AMP8 and AMP9 investment plans are set to be significantly larger than in previous years.
The framework is the second of five distinct delivery runways to deliver its 10-year programme that could be worth around £14bn.
AMP 8 and AMP 9 Build-only framework
Lot 1 Non-infrastructure: value £1.7bn – seven places
Water and waste water Treatment, pumping stations & storage, reservoirs, bio resources and energy.
Lot 2 Infrastructure: value £4.3bn – 10 places
Water networks and waste water network pipelines, pumping stations & storage and reservoirs.
Firms have until 25 September to submit prequal documents with shortlisted firms invited to bid on 24 October.
