Swimming with the Big Fish SME Matchmaker Service welcomes PPP contract award

The Swimming with the Big Fish SME Matchmaker Service has welcomed the award of the Heating and Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) package of work by the Programme and Project Partners (PPP).

Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick and EJ Parker Technical Services have been appointed to deliver the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), a framework agreement worth £150 to £250 million over the life of the programme.

The HVAC package is the first of several to be awarded by the partners over the coming months as part of a major framework spanning the next 18 years.

As part of its pioneering approach to project delivery and local impact, PPP engaged with the Swimming with the Big Fish SME Matchmaker Service, which is being delivered by Solomons Europe.

The service brokers introductions and develops relationships between those bidding to become key delivery partners and high performing SMEs willing to invest in West Cumbria.

The service helped match several SMEs with Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick and EJ Parker Technical Services. These SMEs are now set to create jobs, apprenticeship opportunities, establish new or invest in existing facilities in the region and deliver a whole host of social impact initiatives.

It is a huge stride forward in achieving PPP’s shared ambition to create a clean and safe environment at the Sellafield site for future generations, improve sustainability and better outcomes for the local economy and communities. We’re extremely proud to be playing a part.
