Suppliers alerted to £850m road construction framework
Liverpool City Council is seeking interest from contractors for its future Highways Planned Works Framework, with procurement scheduled to commence in July.
The framework will be divided into two lots with project values of up to £1.5 million or more, to include general civil engineering works and new highways works as follows:
General civil engineering works
- Highway and junction improvements;
- Traffic signal installation and improvements;
- Drainage works;
- Structural improvements and remedial works;
- Major resurfacing and surface treatment works.
New highways works
- Public transport infrastructure and provision;
- Active travel schemes; ·
- Public realm;
- Highways structures improvements;
- Highways and junction realignments and reconfiguration works.
Liverpool City Council currently intends to appoint up to four suppliers onto each lot.
Prospective firms are required to provide responses to a pre-market engagement document by no later than 14 May.
It is estimated the framework will run for a period of up to four years from late January 2025.
“The pre-market engagement exercise is intended to provide a platform for potential suppliers to comment and feed into the council’s procurement processes,” a prior information notice reads.
“This early engagement is aimed at ensuring a process that best enables suppliers to provide solutions that meet the council’s requirements and objectives for this important framework.”
