3D 360 are pleased to announce our Cumbria Skills Bootcamps subsided Training Programmes in Additive Manufacturing and Digital Manufacturing and Industry 4.0.
3D 360 Cumbria Skills Bootcamp Courses:
Intro to Additive Manufacturing and 3D CAD Skills Bootcamp (Level 3 Equivalent) – Hybrid delivery - includes free 3D printer
66 hours guided + 20 hours self-study over 8 weeks.
Aimed at new users to AM and CAD (Senior apprentices, graduates, technicians)
Face-to-face modules delivered from the Barclays Eagle labs In Whitehaven. If your company has 8 or more candidates the please contact us to discuss delivering the face-to-face modules from your facility to reduce downtime, travel and disruption.
- All learners build an Creality Ender 3, 3D printer to take back to work or keep
- Calibrate and set the printer to a print ready condition
- Convert CAD files to a printable state using Cura slicing software
- 3D CAD fundamentals - Solid modelling, sheet metal, surfacing, detailing, assemblies
- What is Additive Manufacturing?
- Design for Additive Manufacture (DfAM)
- Advanced 3D printer materials and printer settings
- Basic service, fault diagnosis and maintenance
- Ability to design and 3D print various components
Digital Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 Skills Bootcamp (Level 3 Equivalent) – Virtual delivery
66 hours guided + 20 hours self-study over 11 weeks.
Great introduction and overview of digital manufacturing and applications for each technology within industry. Eases the transition and integration of industry 4.0
Aimed at (Senior apprentices, graduates, manufacturing engineers and project managers)

Eligibility:
Learners need to be aged 19 or over on the 31st August 2022 and either live or work in the Cumbria region.
Each learner can access one set of Skills Bootcamps funding per year so should be able to progress through all 3 of the skills bootcamps courses in just over 2 years.
Availability:
We only have 20 spaces on the Intro to Additive Manufacturing and 30 on the industry 4.0 and already have a lot of potential interest, especially the Intro with the free printer.
Costs:
The skills bootcamps are subsidised by the Department for Education and cost the following (Ex. VAT):
- Total cost to the employer will be £250 per learner for SMEs,
- OEMs / over 250 employees £750 per learner
(For SMEs that’s £22.73 per person per day and that includes a free 3D printer so it presents incredible value for money).
