Prima Uno secures a Cost Engineering, Planning and Estimating Framework at Dounreay.
Prima Uno has successfully re-secured a two-year plus Framework at Dounreay. Prima Uno initially secured the Cost Engineering and Planning framework in the summer of 2021; the re-securing of this framework enables continued professional collaboration with Dounreay in helping them deliver their mission, where the site is one of Britain’s most ambitious nuclear site closure programmes.
To further enhance reach back and expertise, Mott MacDonald are supporting Prima Uno with this framework contract. We have worked together on many projects since 2014 and we look forward to continuing our successful partnership together.
Prima Uno will be bringing industry wide experience and expertise to support Dounreay project team and working together as a fully integrated team.
Not only we will be supporting Dounreay on their projects, but Prima Uno is also working with the Caithness Chamber of Commerce and local education authorities to employ local project controls apprentices to work on this framework. These apprentices will gain a qualification accredited by ECITB and ACostE, along with hands on experience of programme and project delivery.
The model will follow Prima Uno’s Project Controls Centre of Excellence, which was started in Cumbria in 2014, which has a wealth of experience and dedicated mentors who will support this scheme. In addition to this, our plans include rolling out a centre of excellence in Oxford and Warrington, providing wider reaching opportunities for careers in project controls.
Sarah Purdham MD of Prima Uno: “To secure this contract again is extremely exciting for Prima Uno, we want to add value but also to make a difference. To start a Centre of Excellence in Thurso will be wonderful and will put something back in the local area. We have a good collaborative relationship with Dounreay. We will work with local colleges and Dounreay to take on apprentices. We will bring valuable learning from experience from our other major projects. I am looking forward to working with the team for a further three years at Dounreay. Our staff share my vision and enthusiasm and are excited about starting on the projects. We are being supported by business colleagues from Mott MacDonald who we have worked with at Nuclear Waste Services since 2014.”
