NNL appoints new Chief Operations Officer
National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is pleased to announce Oli Wignall as its new Chief Operations Officer (COO) with effect from 3 June 2024.
Oli will join NNL’s Executive Leadership Team, taking responsibility for shaping and driving performance excellence and the efficient delivery of NNL’s work across all its sites.
Oli steps into his new position having amassed a wealth of experience as the Operations Director for the submarines division of BAE for the last decade. During that time he was responsible for nuclear operations, alongside nuclear license and regulatory requirements.
Professor Paul Howarth, Chief Executive Officer at NNL said:
“I am excited that Oli is joining our team. His strong track record of delivering excellence, innovation and driving improvements will enable our laboratories achieve safe, sustainable and cost-effective operations.
“His experience and leadership will ensure the ongoing delivery of vital nuclear research and development. This will help position the UK as a global leader in nuclear technology.”
