NEBOSH Graduation & Awards Ceremony 2023

EBOSH Graduation & Awards Ceremony 2023

Tom and James were honoured to be invited to attend the NEBOSH Graduation & Awards Ceremonies which took place on Monday 11 September 2023 at the University of Warwick as VIP guests, accompanying our learner Lindsay Platt who won the Award for the best candidate in the NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) qualification.

The event celebrates the achievements of people who have achieved a NEBOSH Diploma or Masters qualification and presents awards to the top-performing learners from the previous twelve months.

Nearly 600 Diplomates from over 30 countries joined NEBOSH for two ceremonies at the University of Warwick, plus their families and friends, were in attendance to celebrate their achievements.

Inside the Warwick Arts Centre we were welcomed by the NEBOSH reception team who were distributing #NEBOSHGrad2023 brochures and helping to direct the Diplomates. The brochure contained lots of useful information for the day, the names of all the Diplomates and Award Winners, and words from the two guest speakers Louise Adamson and Jason Anker.

The stage is set for the ceremony…

At the start of the ceremony, Andy Shenstone, NEBOSH Chief Executive, welcomed and congratulated those attending “My heartfelt congratulations to all of you…I hope you will positively influence best practice across the OSH profession”

Diplomates, families and friends also heard from guest speaker Jason Anker, NEBOSH Honorary Diplomate, who shared his inspiring story with them. He closed by saying “Thank you to all of the Diplomates who have decided to spend the rest of their lives dedicated to health and safety.”

Then the Graduation and Award Ceremony began in earnest, orated by Dee Arp, Chief Operating Officer at NEBOSH.

Lindsay was introduced by Dee with the following words:

Next is the Award for the best candidate in the NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK). Presenting the award is Jason Anker.
This year’s winner studied with Woodward SHE Ltd and tells us that their new construction qualification has helped them to give advice on demolition and construction works in their role as Health and Safety Advisor at Sellafield. We wish them well in their long-term aspirations to gain a NEBOSH Diploma and become a safety specialist in construction.
Please give a round of applause to: Lindsay Platt
