in-Cumbria business magazine shines spotlight on Solomons Europe's career conversion work
Always up for a challenge, Solomons Europe has been thinking outside the box when it comes to tackling the skills shortage and numerous other pressures facing the construction industry. One strand of our work has been supporting people from different industry backgrounds on their journey to becoming high performing Quantity Surveyors.
As our Strategic Director Kerry Doig outlines: “It’s not just about skills, although that remains important, but attitude and the ability to see and embrace the bigger picture.”
The feature (which you can download below) also includes case studies on Lucy Farrer and Jane Younger. Both have come through Solomons’ rigorous career conversion programme – which mixes technical training, mentorship and invaluable on-the-job experience.
In the last 6 years we’ve taken 19 team members through this programme. At present, career conversion candidates make up more that 25% of our teams based across the North.
