Hare and Severfield win £250m Sellafield deal
Sellafield’s project delivery team has selected William Hare and Severfield for a combined steelwork and cladding package of work worth nearly £250m over 17 years.
The deal is the fifth key delivery partner supplier framework to be awarded by the partnership in a pioneering procurement model that uses Project 13-style integrated collaborative teams.
The big procurement shake-up is being delivered by Programme and Project Partners (PPP), driving forward the clean-up of the Sellafield site in West Cumbria.
Stuart Mitchell, director of Severfield said: “Severfield has been present on the Sellafield site for over 13 years having worked on multiple major projects.
“This secures Severfield’s future on the Sellafield site and gives us the opportunity to bring the people, governance and innovation that has made us the largest structural steel contractor in the UK to the partnership.”
Craig Arnold, director at William Hare, added: “We welcome this opportunity to consolidate 40 years’ experience at the Sellafield site with the integration of our bespoke, optimised structural delivery process into the Programme and Project Partners strategy.
“This will bring both value and certainty of outcome into Sellafield projects as well as opportunity and support for the local community.”
