Control Systems Equipment donated to Lakes College
The Jacobs team working on the Control Systems Framework at Sellafield has facilitated a donation of electronic instrumentation equipment to Lakes College in Workington.
Various items became surplus to requirements when industrial automation supplier Rockwell merged its Sandbach office with a larger centre in Milton Keynes.
Rockwell donated about £30,000 of equipment including a programmable logic controller (PLC), input/output cards, power supplies, demonstration units, touchscreen human-machine interfaces, safety PLCs and a two axis plotter along with a PLC in a box unit.
Luke Richardson, Jacobs Head of Social Impact said: “Donations like this help ensure that students can learn on equipment in use by industry today"
Lakes College Principal Chris Nattress, said: “We are always happy to engage with our trusted employer partners on how they can support work in educating and training the workforce of the future. The donation of this equipment is another example of how these working relationships benefit our staff and students”.
