Capula appoints new Managing Director
Following 3 years of service at Staffordshire based Capula, and over 44 years in the automation and control business, Dave Pickles has announced his retirement and we are pleased to welcome Simon Coombs as Managing Director commencing 1st
June 2022.
Having previously held the role of Business Development Director at Capula, Simon is a familiar face to many of our customers and employees and will be bringing his wealth of experience from his role at the global technology services firm Accenture to support Capula’s continued growth ambitions.
Commenting on his return, Simon said: “I am so pleased to be returning back to Capula and am excited to support its growth ambitions in the delivery of digital services to complex operational technology and digitalisation programmes.
Capula is a well trusted and respected digital services provider in industrial systems integration, and I am joining a business that has a strong pipeline up to 2025 and is already progressing in delivering its digital strategy.

With over 35 years’ experience working with energy and asset-intensive industries, Simon brings a wealth of experience from the delivery of a range of digital, IT and Operational Technology programmes and will be focused on the continued delivery of customer excellence as part of Capula’s growth vision.
Having began his career as a nuclear, automation and power systems engineer, Simon has held leadership roles that span operational, delivery and sales and will be committed to building on Capula’s trusted experience, capability and reputation in the energy sector.
This appointment ensures continuity and strength of service for customers in the years ahead.
Simon will be joining the Board of Management of the Imtech Group, jointly owned by EDF and Dalkia.
