The Halcyon Club Experience
On a gorgeous, fresh Cumbrian morning in November, I took to the road to attend the latest Organisational Health for Performance BECBC workshop. This one was held at the Halcyon Club nr Watermillock.
What. A. Place!!
Finding it wasn’t the easiest (although Dianne’s bright orange BECBC banner at the end of the lane was inspired! Thank you!) but the moment you walked through the doors into the building, you felt the quality and calm that the Halcyon offers its guests. Describing themselves as “a luxurious retreat that combines incredible spaces in an inspiring location to deliver long-lasting impact for your team or clients” and aimed at teams/groups of professionals, they merge work and play to make a difference.
We listened to Kerry & Dom’s story, a heartfelt and very emotional story talked through by Kerry, that truly gave a sense of how much this place means to both of them, what effort they’ve gone to, to create it and what they want it to bring to others.
Following coffee and a delicious cake, we had a guided tour of the premises by Dom, you can see from some of the pictures that they’ve thought of everything a retreat like this may need. Simply stunning.
I left the event feeling revitalised and refreshed and armed with lots of thoughts about wellbeing and leadership thanks to the copy of Aspire magazine that we were given too (thank you!).
An excellent morning, with a good attendance of BECBC members too. Going by all the inspirational LinkedIn posts I saw following the event, I think many of us felt equally inspired, refreshed and in awe at what Kerry & Dom have created.
Thanks for the invite!
